Hi, I am Vanessa.
I'm a mom, wife, creator, and the heart behind Different Abilities, One Love.
As a mother of two beautiful daughters with different abilities, life has been full of love, challenges, doctors' appointments, school, work, cooking, cleaning — and trying to keep everything together.
For a long time, I tried to control everything.
I wanted everyone to be okay. I wanted everything done. I wanted nothing to fall apart.
Eventually, I realized I couldn't control everything.
And maybe I wasn't supposed to.
When I began letting go, I saw something powerful:
No matter our abilities, no matter how we speak, move, learn, or communicate, we all need the same things — love and connection.
That realization changed our family.
And eventually, it became Zoey & Lily Adventures.
Leanna
Meet Leanna.
Our strength. Our teacher. Our heart.
Leanna has taken our family through a journey we could never have imagined.
She has experienced tremendous medical challenges, pain, and obstacles — and yet she continues to show us what strength looks like.
Leanna wants to live. She wants to love.
And in her own way, she guides our entire family.
She teaches us to let go of what we cannot control. To enjoy the process. To love deeply. To cherish today.
Leanna reminds us that communication is bigger than words and connection is bigger than ability.
She is a strong spirit, a magical child, and a beautiful soul who has changed our family forever.
ZOEY
Meet Zoey.
Our light. Our joy. Our adventurer.
Zoey is seven years old and full of life.
She wants to play, create, draw, learn, explore, connect, and dream — preferably all at once.
She loves gymnastics, fashion, hairstyles, art, discovering new things, and asking lots of questions.
But one of the most beautiful things about Zoey is her relationship with her sister.
Her curiosity about Leanna — and her determination to understand and connect with her — helped inspire the world of Zoey & Lily Adventures.
Where adults might see limitations, Zoey sees possibilities.
And in her imagination, anything can become an adventure.
Mom is the dreamer.
Together, we've learned that a happy family isn't a perfect family.
It's a family that listens, grows, supports one another, and keeps choosing love.
Our experiences taught us that sometimes the greatest lessons don't come from having all the answers.
They come from the people we love.
They come from the people we love.

Chapo may look intimidating at first, but behind that tough exterior is one of the gentlest members of our family.
He's protector, playmate, companion, and best friend.
Because every great family adventure needs a dog.
WHAT LIFE TAUGHT ME
Life is not fair most of the time.
Life is not fair most of the time.
But it gives us something even greater—it gives us the opportunity to create meaning and to love everything that has been given to us.
A wise man once said there are only two ways to be happy:
to have everything,
or to have nothing.
Since having everything is nearly impossible, I chose the second path—to be happy with all that I have.
And all that I have is a magic called unconditional love.
A love powerful enough to turn pain into purpose, challenges into lessons, and difficult moments into a beautiful journey.
WHAT I BELIEVE
Every Soul Has a Purpose.
I believe that every soul that comes to this Earth arrives with a purpose.
There is no such thing as a life without meaning. Every one of us has something to give, something to teach, and something to share.
This is our story.
And this is an invitation to believe.
